Here’s the lineup for this year’s free performances during Art in the Park!

  • Hailing fromt he heart of Garden City, KS, The Cottonwoods are an all-female Americana folk band that embodies the spirit of collaboration and creativity. Consisting of four talented musicians - Valarie Smith, Kelsey Collins, Briana Anderson, and Katie Prewitt - the band brings a rich tapestry of sounds and stories that reflect their deep connection to each other and their roots.

  • Steps Dance School was established in 2002 and offers opportunities for students ages 1.5 through adult to learn a variety of dance styles, including: ballet, tap, musical theater, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and yoga. 

    Steps has eight lead instructors and an Assistant Teacher Development Program for older students interested in developing their teaching skills.

    We believe dance promotes patience, endurance, respect, artistic expression, and builds self-confidence. Steps Dance School offers individual dancer attention, respect towards each student, and guidance through the proper techniques. We work to give each student a good foundation in dance regardless of whether they decide to pursue dance as a career, a college degree, a hobby, or just for fun. Steps is dedicated to being a part of Garden City and its surrounding communities by encouraging expression through movement, developing a love of dance, and an appreciation for the performing arts.

    Steps Dance School Garden City location is on Kansas Ave. in the basement of High Plains Orthodontics, or west of Golden Plains Credit Union and is handicap accessible.

  • Singer/songwriter who has opened for Granger Smith/Earl Dibbles Jr., Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Curtis Grimes, Bart Crow, Zane Williams, JB and the Moonshine Band, Moe Bandy, Bo Phillips, Cowboy Troy and more! He is the lead singer of Joey Dean and the Dry River Band.

    Joey Dean grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma playing music since the age of 13. Started with punk rock, then went to hard rock and metal before pulling back the reins and focusing on his roots. He took less than a year of piano lessons at the age of 12. When he was 14 he began teaching himself bass guitar and eventually transitioned into learning the acoustic guitar. He bought his first electric guitar at the age of 16 and still continues learning guitar to this day. Though he was born in Wichita, KS, Joey claims his hometown as Ashland, KS where he graduated high school in 2004.

    He has been privileged enough to play and jam with other artists such as Bo Phillips, Shane Berggren of 2Twenty2, Terry Jenkins III of Reckless Rebellion, Lake Baker of The Down Times, Brady Nichols and the Day Riders, Jenny Leigh, Marc Baker, Larry Jensen, Paul Gilly and the Gunslingers, Chris Compton, Outlaws Inc, Will Wobbie and Fred Williams. Jensen made a guest appearance on Joeys solo album in the song "Miss Me". Lane Baker appeared on and produced "Shootin Memories" and "Hand Me Down Cowboy". Berggren played on and produced the studio version of "Honky Tonks in Texas."

    Joey's music has been played on a number of radio stations across the state of Kansas and in NW Oklahoma. He resides in Ingalls, KS with his wife Jennifer and their son Harrison or as he is known on the radio and online, #H. Joey is General Manager for a group of radio stations in Garden City, KS and Guymon, OK. He is also a former morning show and sports talk show host.

    In November 2023 Joey and the band put out their first album #Deantime which can be streamed on all platforms.

  • Born and raised in Garden City, KS, Jeff Mitchell is no stranger to the Southwest Kansas music scene. He cut his teeth as a teenager playing various local bands, jumping across genres, and swapping instruments to master his craft from the ground up. Today, Jeff has distilled decades of muical road-miles into a powerhouse solo acoustic act. He takes 70s Outlaw Country legends, mixes them with 60s and 70s roots rock, 90s college alternative, throws them all into a blender and makers everything cound likek a gritty, high-energy Americana train wreck in the best way possible. Stripped down to six strings and a commanding vocal presense, Jeff turns familar, vintage classics and modern favorites into foot-stomping, authenic roots rock.

  • Sol de Mexico is a Garden City folklórico dance group made up of school-aged youth under the direction of Estela Gutierrez. Together with the support of parents, students, and teachers, they help preserve traditional Mexican folk dances and celebrate the vibrant spirit of Mexico.

  • Though they grew up in Goodland, Kansas, just one grade apart in school, Aaron and Bree’s path didn’t truly cross until later in life. Aaron spent years playing guitar in local rock, country, and blues bands, while Sabrina developed her voice through solo performances, ensemble singing, and years of live appearances.

    After coming together during a musical production in 2026, their musical connection quickly great into something more. Today, as husband and wife, Aaron and Bree blend rich harmonies, thoughtful songwriting and influences from Americana, folk, country, and blues into performances that feel both intimate and genuine.
