About the Artist:
Gulnura “Nora” Taylor exhibits remarkable versatility in her work, conveying emotions that resonate on both personal and universal levels. Born in Kyrgyzstan, Nora's artistic journey began early. Under her mother’s guidance, Nora honed her skills in stitching and embroidery. She pursued her passion for dance, eventually becoming a dance instructor after graduating from Kyrgyz State National University in 1999 with a Master’s Degree in Business Management.
After immigrating to the United States in 2012 and obtaining U.S. citizenship in 2017, Nora found a newfound love for watercolors, inspired by a supportive community of painters in Kansas. Reflecting on her artistic evolution, Nora expresses how watercolor has liberated her soul, allowing her to connect with her ancestry on a profound level.
She finds the western way of life inspirational. She enjoys capturing the determination and spirit of the cowboys and cowgirls in her paintings, as well as the grace and power of the horses and livestock.
