This beginner’s class helps participants follow step-by-step instructions to recreate the painting of the month on an 11X14 stretched canvas. No experience required. This is a wine free event for ages 14+.

Bring your friends to Garden City Arts and have a glass of wine while creating a painting on a 14X18 stretched canvas. No previous art experience is needed as the instructor will provide easy to follow step-by-step instructions. Participants can also enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and wine while they paint.

Come out to Garden City Arts and meet new people that share your passion for creativity. Each month we will have different art making opportunities for participants. Some months we will have a guided project. Other months will be ‘open studio’ and an opportunity for participants to work on their own projects from home. You’ve probably seen a video of acrylic pouring online and thought, ‘I’d love to try that!’. This workshop will give you that opportunity and help guide you through this fun, unpredictable process. Each participant will get to do two ‘pours’ on 8”x8” panels. The finished products will have to stay at the gallery overnight to dry.

aLCOHOL INK PENDANTS
Tracy Teeter, a local artist and alcohol ink expert, will be teaching participants a fun, new jewelry making technique. Using alcohol ink, each participant will get to create 6 abstract pendants (3 on yupo paper and 3 on stamp board) that they will then turn into necklaces later in the workshop. This is a great way to incorporate the vibrant colors created when using alcohol ink into wearable art for yourself, friends and family. All materials will be provided. Participants must pre-enroll for this workshop.

Feel like a little bit of heART therapy? This workshop with Robin Valenzuela is about pulling out your inner frustration and applying it to canvas. In this safe space you will complete a beautiful original piece of artwork that is powerful and meaningful. We will have fun working with specific acrylic paints and utilize painting tools in a way to create surface texture, lines and shapes. You bring the angry, Robin will bring the supplies!

CLOUDS & TEA
Join watercolorist Amy Warfield as she teaches participants her tips and tricks when painting clouds. This subject matter often appears in her plein air landscapes of Kansas. We’ll provide all of the materials, plus a range of herbal caffeine-free tea and scones as you learn and paint your own cloud-scape painting.

Design and create your own wrapped bracelet with the help of local artist Katy Guthrie. These beautiful, and comfortable wrapped bracelets can be customized to fit your aesthetics and style. All supplies will be provided for this afternoon workshop.
