ABOUT GCA

Garden City Arts is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization that is dedicated to enriching lives and encouraging creativity through the arts. Our gallery is located in downtown Garden City, KS where we host monthly art exhibits and showcase the talents of local artists in our gift gallery. We also organize public works of art projects; host annual cultural programs/events for the community; offer educational art programs for families, children, and adults; and curate rotating exhibits at 4 other organizations in Garden City.

Garden City Arts was founded in 1989 under the name of Southwest Arts & Humanities Council with the intent to bring more arts and humanities events to Southwest Kansas. The organization was housed in borrowed spaces for many years until moving to our current downtown location in 2001. Since moving into a gallery space, the organization has redefined the purpose of the organization to focus on providing multidisciplinary arts programming for individuals in Finney County and the surrounding areas.
