Reception for “Through My Eyes”

Join us at Garden City Arts for the opening reception of a new exhibition by mixed media artist Kayann Ausherman. Enjoy an afternoon of art and conversation as we welcome this accomplished Kansas artist to our gallery.

Ausherman is a self-taught artist from Haven, Kansas who returned to her childhood love of art in 2013. Drawing from a diverse background that includes anthropology and graphic design, she creates whimsical and expressive interpretations of familiar subjects. Her work often incorporates repurposed and unexpected materials such as wrappers, envelopes, postage stamps, and found papers, reflecting her love of experimentation and exploration.

Her artwork has been published in more than 25 national mixed media magazines, including Somerset Studio and Cloth Paper Scissors, and she has taught workshops throughout Kansas and beyond.

Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.

Acompáñenos en Garden City Arts para la recepción inaugural de la nueva exposición de la artista de técnica mixta Kayann Ausherman. Disfrute de una tarde de arte y conversación mientras damos la bienvenida a esta talentosa artista de Kansas a nuestra galería.

Ausherman es una artista autodidacta de Haven, Kansas, que retomó su pasión infantil por el arte en 2013. Annual Meeting 2025

Please join us as we celebrate the arts in our community during our Art Social Hour and Annual Meeting! Stop by anytime between 6:00 - 6:45 PM for GCA's first annual Open House. During this event we will have refreshments, family art activities, and information on the year's upcoming programs. The Board of Directors and Executive Director will also be present to talk with those interested in getting involved with GCA. Information of volunteering and copies of our annual report will be available for anyone interested to take home.

Our Annual Meeting will start at 6:45PM during which the executive board will be elected and our annual report will be formally presented.

Celestial Magnets - Jan 22nd

This workshop will serve as an introduction or a review on how to use Alcohol Ink. Participants will first learn 3 basic alcohol ink techniques on 3x3 inch yupo paper. Once they are comfortable, they will create their own celestial inspired magnet. These magnets have canvas surfaces and measure roughly 6 inches in diameter. All supplies provided. No previous experience needed.

Este taller servirá como introducción o repaso sobre cómo utilizar Alcohol Ink. Los participantes primero aprenderán 3 técnicas básicas de tinta con alcohol en papel yupo de 3x3 pulgadas. Una vez que se sientan cómodos, crearán su propio imán de inspiración celestial. Estos imanes tienen superficies de lona y miden aproximadamente 6 pulgadas de diámetro. Opening Reception

Join us at Garden City Arts for the opening reception of “Inventory,” a new exhibition by Kansas artist Matthew Miller. Enjoy an afternoon of great art and conversation as we celebrate the debut of this thoughtful body of work.

In his own words, Miller shares:
“I paint to better understand and maintain a direct connection with my community. It keeps me actively searching for new experiences every day. The whole process allows me to observe, interact with, and respond to change creatively. Thank you for your interest in my work.”

Matthew Miller was born in Topeka, Kansas and is a graduate of Fort Hays State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Art with an emphasis in painting in 2013. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art from the University of Kansas.
