BANNER ART PROJECT
Bringing Public Art to Downtown Garden City
The Banner Art Project is a community public art initiative presented by Garden City Arts in partnership with Downtown Vision. Local and regional artists create original banner artwork that is temporarily displayed throughout downtown before being installed on light poles across the community.
More than an art project, the Banner Art Project celebrates creativity, encourages community pride, and transforms public spaces into an open-air gallery that can be experienced by everyone.
Each banner represents the unique voice of an artist while helping create a more vibrant and welcoming downtown.

Proceeds from the Banner Art Project directly support the Public Art Fund, which helps make future public art projects possible in Garden City and the surrounding area.
Through the Public Art Fund, Garden City Arts and Downtown Vision are able to support projects that:
Increase access to public art
Support working artists
Activate shared community spaces
Encourage tourism and downtown engagement
Create lasting artistic experiences for residents and visitors
