Artist Meet & Greet

Join us at Garden City Arts for a special artist meet and greet celebrating “From the Seat of a Bike,” a photography exhibition by Kansas photographer and cyclist WenDee Rowe. Enjoy an afternoon of art and conversation while learning about the stories and landscapes that inspired the images in this unique collection.

A lifelong cyclist and explorer, Rowe has spent decades traveling Kansas backroads and communities. Nearly all of the photographs featured in this exhibit were captured from the seat of her bicycle, offering a personal perspective on the beauty and character of rural Kansas. In addition to her photography, Rowe is well known for her work with the Kansas Sampler Foundation and as co-author of Kansas Guidebook 2 for Explorers.

Reception for “Echos & Imprints”

Join Garden City Arts for an afternoon of art and conversation celebrating “Echoes and Imprints,” a collaborative exhibition featuring works by local artists Robin Valenzuela, Rachel Knowles, and Raquel Garcia. Representing three different generations of women, the exhibit explores shared themes of grief, dreams, strength, growth, and human connection through three distinct artistic perspectives.

Though each artist worked independently, the resulting exhibition reveals striking visual and emotional connections across the artwork, creating a thoughtful and deeply personal viewing experience. Guests are encouraged to spend time with the exhibit, explore the relationships between the pieces, and meet the artists behind the work.

Reception for “Through My Eyes”

Join us at Garden City Arts for the opening reception of a new exhibition by mixed media artist Kayann Ausherman. Enjoy an afternoon of art and conversation as we welcome this accomplished Kansas artist to our gallery.

Ausherman is a self-taught artist from Haven, Kansas who returned to her childhood love of art in 2013. Drawing from a diverse background that includes anthropology and graphic design, she creates whimsical and expressive interpretations of familiar subjects. Her work often incorporates repurposed and unexpected materials such as wrappers, envelopes, postage stamps, and found papers, reflecting her love of experimentation and exploration.

Her artwork has been published in more than 25 national mixed media magazines, including Somerset Studio and Cloth Paper Scissors, and she has taught workshops throughout Kansas and beyond.

Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.

Opening Reception

Join us at Garden City Arts for the opening reception of “Inventory,” a new exhibition by Kansas artist Matthew Miller. Enjoy an afternoon of great art and conversation as we celebrate the debut of this thoughtful body of work.

In his own words, Miller shares:
“I paint to better understand and maintain a direct connection with my community. It keeps me actively searching for new experiences every day. The whole process allows me to observe, interact with, and respond to change creatively. Thank you for your interest in my work.”

Matthew Miller was born in Topeka, Kansas and is a graduate of Fort Hays State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Art with an emphasis in painting in 2013. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art from the University of Kansas.

Almost all of our artists will be offering special deals off the items in their booth AND some will even have extended inventory set up in the gallery! These deals will ONLY be available during the Holiday Open House starting Friday at 1PM and going from 10AM-5PM on Saturday.
