About the Artist:
Hi, I am Laura Jones. I am a lifelong artist rooted in the rural plains of Kansas, where the vast horizon has shaped both my perspective and my practice. From my home studio in Hugoton, where I live with my husband and two children, I have spent the past decade refining my artistic voice and deepening my commitment to visual storytelling.
My work is grounded in a fascination with the smallest details and subtle nuances of life that often go unnoticed or taken for granted. Through my chosen medium of graphite, I explore the human experience in its trials, joys, and quiet revelations. Hands often serve as vessels in my compositions, embodying sacrifice, guidance, balance, and nurture. They become metaphors for the soul’s journey, inviting viewers to connect beyond the surface and into the unspoken depths of feeling. At the heart of my practice lies a philosophical inquiry:
How can art reveal what words cannot? I see each drawing as a meditation on the human condition, a dialogue between the seen and unseen, the tangible and the ineffable. My work seeks to illuminate the spaces where language falters, where love, loss, and resilience reside in silence yet demand recognition.
Ultimately, my art is both craft and philosophy. I explore how we make meaning, how we connect, and how the human spirit endures. I invite viewers not only to see but to feel, to ask what their own soul feels with each piece.
