About the Artist:
“Between Field & Flight”
Torn Paper Collage Paintings by Linda L.V. Illgner
In Between Field and Flight, Linda L.V. Illgner explores the quiet space where earthbound life meets open sky. Roosters stand firmly in textured terrain. A pheasant blends into prairie patterns. A monarch pauses before lifting again. Florals bloom with layered resilience. Each piece is built from handmade, altered, and found papers-torn, shaped, and layered into richly textured surfaces. Repetition, rhythm, and organic markings create shifting perspectives that echo wind through tall grasses, weathered barn wood, and the subtle movement of wings. These works honor the tension between hiding and revealing, grounding and rising. They speak to rural life, to watchfulness, to joy found in small pauses, and to the enduring strength woven into both field and feather. Here, texture becomes landscape. Patterns become habitat. And every torn edge carries a story.
