About the Artist:

Herd of Forgotten Things is built from the remnants the studio left behind, torn papers, rejected prints, fragments of color and pattern once deemed expendable. Gathered together, these scraps find new purpose, rising into the shape of the American bison as it moves again and again across the page. Through shifting positive and negative space, the bison becomes a creature of renewal, an emblem of how life endures on land once dismissed as barren. Like the high plains themselves, these modest materials reveal unexpected radiance when seen with care. Their textures echo wind and grasses; their patterns carry the memory of other artworks, other hands. This piece celebrates the quiet majesty of the bison and the alchemy of mixed-media making: the way the overlooked can gather strength, the way fragments can become a horizon, and the way even the smallest scrap can hold a piece of the sky.
