It takes a village to help run Art in the Park every year! By volunteering you are ensuring that our community has an important and FREE opportunity to connect with the arts. Please consider volunteering this year!

Volunteers who help for at least 4 hours will get the following special perks this year:
Adults (17+): An Art in the Park T-Shirt & a $20 gift card to Garden City Arts
Children (12-16): An Art in the Park T-Shirt
PLEASE NOTE If you are volunteering as part of a school/community group OR at a booth in ARTapalooza for your business/organization you ARE NOT eligible for the volunteer perks.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS & DUTIES
SETTING UP/TAKING DOWN:
You’ll be helping move items and set up/take down GCA items (ex. tents, equipment, supplies). You may also be helping vendors move, set up, or take down their booths.
RUNNNING THE REGISTER:
You’ll be making sales which can include Art in the Park merch, raffle tickets, and silent auction sign ups. Only GCA board members will be put in this position.
INFO BOOTH/VENDOR HELPER:
You’ll be assisting the person at the register when needed; answering questions from the public; and you’ll be on ‘stand-by’ to help vendors watch their booth while they use the restroom or get food.
ARTAPALOOZA HELPER:
You will be monitoring the activity area of the park. This includes the organizations offering free programs on the west side of the park. You will be set up at Booth ‘D’ after you have checked in at the Information Booth. You will be picking up supplies as needed, interacting with kids/families to help them enjoy the activities or answer questions, and helping activity vendors inside your area as needed.
GREENROOM ATTENDANT:
You will be monitoring the Greenroom which is inside the Concession Stands in the Northeast corner of the park. Only event staff, performers, vendors and volunteers are allowed this space to relax, cool down, and enjoy the refreshments provided. You will be responsible for making sure that event goers are not using this space; restocking water into coolers as needed; and providing a welcoming environment.

Art in the Park will be canceled ONLY for severe weather. Please be prepared for all types of weather - hot, cold, windy or light rain.

Yes! Volunteers will be emailed a volunteer guide the week prior to the event.
We will also have a Volunteer Night during which you can attend to learn more and ask questions.
